Farewell, Summer. . .

After nearly three months of summer madness I welcome the return of school and schedules. But we had promised at the start of summer to visit several local attractions here in our new neck of the woods and here we find ourselves having visited none. That's right, no fun day trips to see parks or waterfalls or lakes, or islands or anything. What did we do all summer?

So when Rob got home early today and suggested we make a quick trip to Multnomah Falls we hopped in the car and headed out.

After living here a year and passing by the falls on the few trips we've made to Idaho, it was past time we stopped and took in their majesty.

And of course I took my camera and took photos of, well everything.

My oldest assured me that this was NOT a hike. After all, there was a paved trail, no dirt or rocks to climb or anything. I assured her she would change her mind before long. To my surprise she never showed weakness.

Let's see if she holds up as well tomorrow on her first day of school.

Beautiful! I'm glad you took the time out to do it before school. I hope their first day goes smoothly. Ours did, except for all three being tired and cranky at the end of the day:)

Make me sad, I already miss summer & we have been getting 90 degree weather, FINALLY in MI. Figures when school starts back up the weather gets nice.

I've always seen photos of this falls and heard of the name Multnomah but never knew they are one in the same until we serendipitously discovered it while passing through I-84. I loved it!

Makes me feel homesick for Pacific Northwest!
