The following conversation occurred last night. I called the girls to come down for dinner and as Hannah was coming down the stairs she had a funny look on her face.
"I just had the strangest feeling." she says.
I reply, "Really, why?"
"Well I just finished playing and then I cleaned up my mess and put everything away." Here she pauses and gets this little half smile on her face.
"And. . .?" I prompt.
"It felt good!" She declares in awe.
Finally! All the harping and pleading to get my child to pick up after herself have paid off! And it only took 8 years, that has to be some kind of record. And I have to say I was particularly thrilled to hear it happened today, because I just spent the better part of two days seriously cleaning out the girls' rooms and playroom. Do you suppose it will last?

That is a funny little story, who knows if it will last, kids are so unpredictable. I bet your days of picking up after her aren't TOTALLY behind you :)
Just when you think they finally "get it", they will find something else to totally annoy you with:) I just try to tell myself, "you're going to miss this when they're older."
OH, I am so jealous!! We're still working on picking up at our house. It's just not getting through.
