My Crafty Side is Showing. . . .

I was recently called to be the Personal Progress Leader in my ward. There is always a lot of enthusiasm involved in a new interest, or in my case I call them obsessions. But I know myself well enough to know this soon fades, so I am trying to get myself all organized asap in order to capitalize on my eagerness and creativity.

One of the first things I am implementing is this little gift bag, or "Purse," to the girls turning 12, 14, &16 (Their advancement years in the Young Women's Program). I found the basic idea online and then made it better. The first is filled with Personal Progress related items: pen, highlighter, pencil, sticky notes and flags, plus a bracelet for fun. The second has first dance items: mirror, lip gloss, nail polish, mouthwash, lotion, gum. The first two come with little words of advice. The third is the date bag: Life Savers - "If sadness occurs because you have no date, take on of these before it's too late," Hershey's kisses - "If you're feeling an urge for a kiss, we recommend you splurge on this!" and a few others equally as cutsie.

Anyway, a friend suggested I post my crafty creations, so I am posting pictures of my purses (in case you didn't get it, the purses are a play on "Purse-onal Progress"). There was another cute purse template at Stamps Paper Scissors .

I just came across your blog pressing the "next blog" button at the top. I just wanted to tell you how CUTE those purses are, what a great idea! I'm also LDS, so I'll have to remember it if I'm ever in YW's.
