Family (& Friends) Fun Friday

In the spirit of all things fun and family, we let the girls choose their activity last friday.  And of course their first choice was to invite friends.  At this point, these particular friends are pretty much family--their father even suggested we claim them on our taxes this year since they are over so much! Luckily they are good boys and we really don't mind having them over.

The four of them put their heads together and before I knew it, we were off to the fabric store--I even impressed my husband by thinking to bring my 40% off and 50% off coupons.

The goal: pajama bottoms for all (we even got enough to make some for another little friend not present).

Then of course Family (& Friend) Fun Friday quickly turned into Mom and Dad work and kids go play Friday.  Luckily, the pattern said it was so easy even some guy could do it (as attested by the picture of said random man sewing them on the cover of the pattern envelope).  Not that Rob sewed, but he did cut out all the pjs while I started sewing them together.  Funny how the kids vanished when the actual work began.

And once they were all made the kids donned their fancy sleepwear and ran off to play video games sans the parents who worked so hard to put the "fun" in Family (& Friend) Fun Friday.

Next week I think I will choose the activity!  Any suggestions? My only request is that we can make it Family Fun IN THE SUN Friday.

I think it's pretty cool the kids all got sleepwear. It's an awesome idea for a family date.
