After a week of finding reasons to be out of my house I have no place I'd rather be than home. I have never been one to run errands all day while my kids are in school. I find plenty to do while staying home. . . cleaning, writing, doing house projects, photo editing, yard work, the occasional sewing project, church related projects and other random computer related activities. So for the past week while my floor has been refinished I have had to leave my house by nine in the morning and not come back until late afternoon, or sometimes evening. One day I left at nine and got home at nine. Essentially, I have only been home long enough to make messes.
Of course, those messes have been confined to my room and the girls' rooms because the entire main level is either hardwood, or the living room--which is wall to wall piled furniture. It has been an interesting week.
I have learned, however, that I am truly a homebody. I like to be home. Maybe that is why I spend so much time decorating and remodeling (and dreaming of decorating and remodeling) my house. It is my world, my number one environment. I would like it to be orderly and serene. I don't work well in clutter and chaos. Now if I could just get all my furniture back where it goes. . .
Do you like to get out or stay home?

If I have a project going, I LOVE to be at home---or if I've just completed a project (even as simple as rearranging the furniture) I LOVE to be home. But after about 3 days, I'm itching to get out for a while. I miss being outside too--the yard was like my second home when it was warm.
But I've never been one who wants to take a lot of vacations of have multiple homes, because there really is no place like home!
I just re-read that jumbled comment....it's late :)
I'm kinda 50/50. I like to go and do things that are fun, like vacations. But, I do so much running around anymore with work and scouts and such that when I do have free time, I'm so worn out that I stay home. My fiance looked at me Sunday night and said "Did you leave the house at all this weekend?" I said "nope."
I like to be home but with the kids it gets out of control real fast. If we had a bigger house or even a yard where the kids could run around more we'd be home more. But we end up doing errands and going out a lot so that I can escape the noise and chaos in the house. I'm working on becomeing more zen with the space I have though.
you already know my answer...I used to go go go and now I stay stay stay!
I am very much a homebody, and like you, I can find a million things to do around the house. I always chuckle when my friends who want to go back to work tell me they are bored at home. I look at them like they are nuts and rattle off all the projects I have going on. think because I had such an intense career for so long that I find joy in the mundane...and being domestic is considered mundane in the business world I came from. So I totally understand where you are coming from. Great post!
