You call it rash, I call it spontaneity. . . . .

The following story actually happened the first week in April, and I wrote it in my Book Smart photo journal book, but I thought it was funny so I am posting it here now:

I now have proof that Rob can act impulsively. . . with a mad rush of research involved, of course. While driving back from Seattle earlier this week, Rob noticed a boat for sale in Battle Ground. As soon as he got home he insisted we all load up and go look at it. It was not in good shape, but it was cheap, and it was a boat--apparently a life long desired possession for Rob. Luckily his good sense made him check to see what else was for sale out there and he realized he could get a functioning boat for not much more.

Now he had a bee in his bonnet. The Pearson's must break with family tradition and buy a boat. So, next thing I know we are packed up again, going to see another boat that Rob found on Craigslist.com. Immediately thereafter, unbeknownst to me, Rob made an offer on the boat. Two days later, a boat is sitting in our garage--courtesy of the seller because neither of our vehicles can boast a towing hitch.

I'm thrilled that such a capricious act was performed by Rob, who has made five trips to the mall to buy a $40 shirt and is yet empty handed, but part of me-a large part--wishes the money had gone toward my kitchen remodel, which is still on hold. But, apparently lovely kitchens don't make lovely memories like a boat can--or so I have been told.
